Tunc Karadut
Founder & CEO
Tunc brings extensive private markets deal making experience in the resources and energy sector. As Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at Doğuş Mining, he led a full exploration program under JORC/NI 43 101 standards, completing 31 drill holes and 11,000 meters drilled with a 95% core recovery rate. His transaction experience spans M&A negotiations and financing arrangements with approximately 20 institutional investors across Europe, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the United States. As Finance Director at TMT Investment Holdings, he structured the turnaround of two distressed thermal power plants, negotiating debt restructuring with a consortium of creditor banks.
This background cultivated a deep interest in alternative data assets and leading alternative indicators, rooted in the rigorous scrutiny that qualified private investors apply to every investment decision. Tunc maintains an active interest in quantitative models and systematic investing approaches, with a focus on extracting signal from sources that traditional providers overlook. As a natural extension of this and the AI revolution, Tunc expanded this interest into AI/ML and systems engineering. He architected and built the entire data and AI/ML pipeline that powers Mosaic's products, recognizing the opportunity in "what's not covered".
Hakan Azaklioglu
Co-founder & CTO
Hakan brings over 17 years of enterprise cybersecurity leadership spanning healthcare, fintech, and retail. As Executive Director of CSIRT at Wellstar Health System, he oversees comprehensive cyber defense operations including threat intelligence, incident response, digital forensics, and red team operations. Previously, he directed PayPal's Global Cyber Defense Centers across three continents and spent nearly 12 years at The Home Depot, where he built and scaled their Security Operations Center from the ground up. His expertise in protecting critical infrastructure at enterprise scale, combined with deep experience in SIEM architecture, threat detection, and security automation, ensures that Mosaic's data pipelines and customer information remain protected against evolving threats.
Beyond security, Hakan is a lifelong technology enthusiast with a passion for building systems from the ground up. His career began designing multi-rack infrastructure solutions and coding applications in C# and Visual Basic at Lockheed Martin before transitioning into security leadership. This deep technical foundation, spanning network architecture, database replication, application development, and cloud infrastructure, allows him to bridge the gap between strategic vision and hands-on implementation. At Mosaic, he works closely with Tunc to ensure optimal allocation and security across Mosaic's stack, bringing the same rigor he applied to protecting Fortune 500 companies to building reliable, scalable data systems.
Melody Zhang
Co-founder & Legal Operations Coordinator
Melody supports Mosaic's operational workflows and process documentation, bringing strong organizational and research capabilities to the team. Her interest in compliance technology and legal AI aligns with Mosaic's mission of transforming how regulatory information is processed and accessed.
Her experience includes coordinating complex projects, managing documentation workflows, and synthesizing detailed information across multiple sources. She led teams of over 20 teaching assistants, contributed to business law educational materials through Queen's Business Law Clinic, and conducted research on risk mitigation in M&A transactions. She actively tracks developments in regtech and legal technology. Fluent in English and Mandarin.
She holds a JD from Queen's University Faculty of Law, an MBA from Smith School of Business, and a BSc in Neuroscience.
